I was running...though I knew not what I was running from. My mother had not told me. She had only told me that I had to get away, that I had to flee...that I might never see her again. And I hadn't. She was right. I barely remembered where I had come from, it had been so long since I had been home.
My long black hair caught on a branch. I struggled to get it loose. Ah...it has been so long since I have even been able to brush it... My thoughts returned to memories of home as I continued to struggle onwards.
Grandmother and Grandfather looking regal in their court dress....Uncle whistling blithely down the hallway...Papa swinging me in his arms....Mama smiling and singing me to sleep at night.... I was so wrapped up in my thoughts that I did not see them coming. With one swift blow, they had knocked me to the ground. I feel, unconsious, and they stole from me the one thing I held dear....

Learning how to mela
Legolas took my hand and pulled me away. "I'm terribly sorry," I said to the new girl. "I was speaking to a friend before you came along, and we weren't quite finished. I'm quite certain any other fellowship member would be glad to answer whatever questions you may have.
We walked a lot farther than I had been expecting, until the fellowship was barely visible and even the keenest ears could not catch our words.
"Legolas, what is it?"
He took my hands in his. I braced myself for what I thought was coming.
But I was in no way prepared for what he actually said.
"Vanimle sila tiri," he murmured. "Oio naa elealla alasse'."
I stared. Compliments were not something I was used to.
"Amin mela lle."
"No you don't," I whispered. "You can't."
Vanimle sila tiri = Your beauty shines bright
Oio naa elealla alasse' = Ever is thy sight a joy
Amin mela lle = I love you

(Sorry guys, I kinda forgot about this blog. I'll try a first post right now, but I don't know if I'll post often. I don't really know what I'm doing, so be patient with me! :))
As I was walking around aimlessly, I came across a group of men, hobbits, and elves. They looked pretty peaceful, so having nothing else to do and longing for company, I went to them and introduced myself.
I figured "Hello" was the best way to start.
"Hello, friends. My name is Eámanë Narmolanya. I am just a peaceful elf going anywhere, and coming from nowhere in particular. Where, might I ask, is your group headed? And, could I join you?"
An elf who introduced herself as Ella, looked at me quizzically and responded, "So you are willing to join us, not knowing where exactly we are headed?"
"If I remember correctly, I asked where you were headed before I asked if I could join you." I replied. I didn't mean to sound cold, but I was tired and hungry, not a good combination. "And if you are heading somewhere extremely unpleasant, may I at least ask for a bit of food and a place to rest for a small time. I am quite famished, and haven't rested since yesterday morning."
"Then by all means," Ella responded, "Please do have a bite."
She smiled and offered me some food, and I apologized for being so rude.
"Now," I started after eating a bit, "Would you tell me where you are going?"
(How's that? :) )

More To Worry About...
(Rosey, feel free to post your answers or anything if you'd like to...I just wanted to post again. :P )
Rosriel patiently answered every question I posed to her, until I could think of no more. It helped me to feel closer to my long lost family this way...even though I would never see them, knowing so much more about them...well I just couldn't put it into words. It was what I'd been longing for, since I was old enough to know the feeling of longing.
I released Rosriel from my interrogation, and stepped out of the group, to think.
"Ella?" Legolas asked.
I looked up.
"There was something...I was hoping to tell you...before the orc attack."
I tried my hardest not to show my disappointment. I'd been hoping he had forgotten. Or at least that he would have waited a little longer. I was enjoying my blissful ignorance. Sure I'd had my suspicions, but I always pushed them aside, thrilled with Legolas' friendship, and sincere in my belief that I needed no more than that. But if he were to marry...would our friendship continue as it was? How could it?
And I felt certain this was the topic he wished to speak to me about. It had to happen sometime. I always knew it would. Yet I still felt so unprepared for it.
"Ella?"
"Sorry. I...I know there is. But...if it's not too troublesome...Legolas, I would rather not hear it. Not yet."
"I must say it."
"But why, Legolas? Can not things continue as they have been? Until this adventure is over, let us continue to be good friends. Let nothing stop that."
"Is that what you want?"
"With all my heart."
He looked distraught.
"But..." I took a deep breath. "If you must...I will listen."
"It is not my wish to upset you."
"I know, Legolas. Just, say it as quickly as possible, and I will try to be gracious about it."
He bit his lip. "If it is that terrible for you I'll--"
"No. You need to say it. And I am willing to hear it. I want to. I'm your friend--friends listen when their friends need to speak."
Legolas nodded. "Of course."

After the excitement of our newest fellowship member had worn off, I took Rosriel--my sister! (it feels so good to say that word...to know I have a real, true, family...right next to me...someone I fit in perfectly with....it's amazing)--aside. "Did you know mother and father?" I asked. "Really and truly? Can you tell me about them?? There is so much I long to know."

Let me introduce myself......(my first post!)
Rosriel and Ella are running hand in hand, when they bump into a tall, female Elf, in a dark green dress, holding a bow.
"What’s the rush?” Chuckling, “You two seem much exited about something."
Both the girls answer at the same time, "We're sisters!!!"
Me, with a smile, "Well, I suppose that is something to be excited about. I take it you just discovered it?”
Rosriel exclaims, “Yes!” But Ella only stares at the Elf a bit cautiously, “Um....would you mind telling us who you are?”
With embarrassment, “Oh excuse me! My name is Tûrwethiel Merliwen, cousin to Legolas. I am one of the Greenwood Elves who came to your assistance.” With great grace, I curtsy and smile.

Wait a minute.. you're my WHAT?
I awoke from a troubled sleep and horrid dreams to a pounding head and Aldarion's worried face bending over me. Groggily I realized he was shaking me and calling my name. "Ow!" I moaned.
His face brightened with relief. "Rosriel, you are awake!"
"Which is to be regretted," I groaned again, trying to sit up. "Oh my head! What happened?"
"After you caught Elanor.."
I sat up quickly. "Elanor! Where is she? Is she alright?"
Aldarion pushed me back down again gently. "She is fine, though with a sore head as well, I imagine." He smiled.
I sighed with relief, "Then what?"
"She knocked you over backwards and you both crashed into this tree."
"Ouch," I rubbed my head. "No wonder it hurt's." I looked around, realizing something suddenly. "Wait, the battle, is it over?"
Aldarion helped me up, explaining, "We were close to being overwhelmed and had all but given up hope when a band of elves appeared in the nick of time and chased the orcs away."
I smiled, "How kind of them."
Seeing that I was alright now, Aldarion walked away to check on the others. Realizing I was a mess from rolling down the hill, I began brushing the leaves and grass from my dress and combing my hands through my hair. I touched my neck to fix my necklace where it lay hidden beneath my gown when I paused. "My necklace!" I gasped, "It's gone!"
Frantically I began shaking my dress, hoping it would fall out from somewhere. Ella came to see what was wrong.
"My necklace, it's missing!" I cried, searching the leaves now in desperation.
Ella bent down to look as well, "What does it look like?"
My hands pushed twigs and grass aside as I began describing it. "It is silver, a silver butterfly with wings of ruby, sapphire and mithril, small and..."
Ella's cut me off, "Does - does this, happen to, be it?"
I looked up at her strange tone of voice. "Yes!" I exclaimed with delight. "Oh yes! Thank you ever so much!" I grabbed it from her and gave her a hug all in one motion. "You don't know how much this necklace means to me." I looked up from fastening it around my neck and saw the strange expression on Ella's face. "What? What is it?"
She stared at me. "Your necklace, where did you get it from?"
Curious, I explained. "My father had a necklace like this made for my older sister, and when I was born, he had one made for me as well. I've never seen any other necklace like these."
"Your sister," Ella's voice cracked. "Your sister, where is she?"
"She dissapeared, a year after she was born." I looked closly at Ella, who had begun to cry. "Why do you ask? Is something wrong?"
She shook her head, reaching towards the neckline of her dress. My eyes widened as she pulled out a necklace identical to mine. "Why! Where?" I gasped.
Ella's voice shook, "When Elrond found me, I was about a year old. He said this necklace was around my neck." She began sobbing, "You are - we are..."
Realization dawned upon me and I shrieked, "You're my sister!" Sobbing and laughing we fell into eachothers arms. "It's you, it's you, it's you!" I kept repeating over and over.
She laughed. "Oh blessed orcs!"
We laughed and giggled and cried. "Come on!" I pulled her up, "Let's go tell everyone!"
"The whole world!" Ella cried.
Together we ran happily towards where the rest were gathered.
His face brightened with relief. "Rosriel, you are awake!"

Hardly injured at all?
I gritted my teeth and tried to tell myself that Anarion was justifiably a little worried. After all, orcs were rather frightening close up, and that big one had connected rather hard with my arm.
My attempt at patience didn't work, however. I did so hate to be fussed over!
"Anarion, I'm not dying, all right?! It's just an arm wound, it's not going to kill me!"
I tried to snatch my arm away, but he took a firmer hold on it as he carefully washed the dirt out of the wound from when I had fallen.
"Hold still, Lira. Don't jerk around so, you might injure yourself further."
I glowered in silence, wishing I could just pull away and do it myself without hurting myself in the attempt.
He glanced up at me, amused, a hint of a smile on his face.
"What, to impatient to sit still for even a moment?" he teased.
I simply glared at him.
"And did you find an encounter with orcs as exciting as you had thought?" he continued, and I gaped at him, my annoyance forgotten.
"Wha--How did you know about that?!" I exclaimed, blushing slightly as he grinned at me, looking more like a boy than a ranger.
"Elenatintil told me, when you first arrived, that you were disapointed not to have been waylaid by orcs," he said dryly, amused still.
My blush deepened, and I decided a change of subject would be wise, but I couldn't think of anything to say.
"Will you hurry up with that, it's not a mortal wound, I can barely feel it! I'm hardly injured at all!" I exclaimed impatiently.
He had finished binding the wound finally, and I stood up quickly.
And promply fainted.
"Hardly injured at all, are you, Lira," Anarion murmered as he quickly bent over me, anxiety in his voice despite the humor, but I did not hear it.

The Aftermath
Everything settled. It was hard to believe it had ended already. Who had won? And who had our rescuers been? Before I had a chance to answer either of these questions, Legolas was at my side.
"Ella! Ella, are you all right? Ella, you're bleeding. Please speak to me!"
I laughed, "Legolas, you're such a worrier. Of course I'm all right. How are the others?"
"Ella, you're bleeding."
"Yes, you said that. Wait, what?"
Legolas reached towards my cheek. I jerked away. "Ella?"
"Sorry," I said.
He tried again, and was successful this time. "You've been scraped, but it's not serious," he said.
"I could have told you that. I think I would have noticed had it been serious. Let's go check on the others."
"And meet our allies," Legolas agreed.

Attack! - Part 2
Aldarion whirled around as the screams of Elanor and Rosriel reached his ears. He saw them crash against the tree trunk and ran towards where they lay. An orc raised his sword over the inert girls. "Legolas! Shoot it!" he yelled as he fought his way through the rabble.
A bow string hummed close by and an arrow burried its self in the orc, causing it to topple over. The ranger looked about confused, for Legolas was still fighting off another orc. Elladan came next to him. "I think ranger's should start carrying bows."
Aldarion sighed. "Thank you Elladan." The tall elf smirked and turned away to fire his bow again. Aldarion began fighting as well, again moving towards Rosriel and Elanor, who were still unconcious.
"Elladan! Look out!" The cry turned him around again and he saw a large orc bearing down upon Elladan, vicious blade raised to chop down on the unsuspecting elf's head. As Elladan spun around, Aldarion lept forweward and sliced at the orc's arm. It bellowed, swinging his sword towards the ranger. He ducked, stabbing foreward and was thrown off balance as the orc kicked out and clouted Aldarion on the head. In a daze, he felt a hand pulling him upright and met Elladan's gaze. Something passed between them and with a new feeling of respect for the other, both returned to the fight.
Elenatintil fought her way close by during a brief respite. "This is hopeless," she panted. "There are just too many!"
"How are they all doing?" Elladan asked, slicing off a goblin's head.
She shook her head, "Alright, but not great either. Dior got a sword cut on his forehead and Lira has an arm wound." Her eyes twinkled. "Anarion however, is taking good care of her." Aldarion laughed. "How's everyone around you?" Elena then asked.
Aldarion looked overby Rosriel and Elanor. Thank goodness, no more orcs over there. "Unconcious," he replied.
Elena's eyes widened. "What happened?"
Elrohir cut off Aldarion's reply. "Another attack, and more are coming!"
All conversation was forgotten as those still able to fight did so with renewed desperation. Orc after orc charged up the hill. A feeling of hoplessness swept over Aldarion. This is it...
All of a sudden, the sound of horns blasted loud about them. Everyone, fellowship and orc, froze and looked about with wondering eyes. Horsemen appeared on the western rim of the valley and a clear voice rang out. "Death to the orcs! Elves of the Greenwood, charge!"
Hope and courage lept up again in the hearts of the Fellowship and they began to fight with new vigor and energy. The orcs quailed, caught between the deadly archers of the Greenwood and the furious fellowship and fled back into the hills. Aldarion and the rest ceased their fighting and watched as the elves pursued the orc band, slaying most of them. He took a deep breath of relief.
The battle was over.
